What you can expect

You can meet at the shop in Ahuriri, Napier, or choose to be picked up from your accommodation. You will then be transferred to the start of your adventure at the Black Barn Winery. Te Mata Estate is very close by, allowing for an early start to wine tasting. You can take a detour to Craggy Range along a new bike path, approximately 4 km there and back. You will then enjoy a 16 km cycle on the limestone cycle trail following the Tuki Tuki River to the coastal communities of Haumoana and Te Awanga. The views are stunning as you cycle the raised stop-bank trail, overlooking orchards, vineyards, and farmlands.

Upon reaching the coast, you will be ready to taste some more fine wine at Elephant Hill, Clearview Estate, and Te Awanga Estate. If lunch is on your wish list, it is highly recommended to book in advance (on Saturdays and public holidays, bookings are essential—lunch will not be available otherwise). For larger groups, booking wine tastings in advance is also recommended.
